So, yesterday Gray and I went to Wal-mart to buy some groceries and I drug him to the cake section. Since I live very much in the rural country of Tennessee, the only option we have for a wedding cake is the local Wal-mart. I was SUPER excited to see a nice banner hanging in their cake section stating 3-tier cakes beginning at $138.00!
They didn’t have a brochure but they did a have a binder of cakes they’ve done in the past and we found a few designs we really liked. These cakes will only feed about 118 without using the time layer, which is for the anniversary celebration anyway.
Because of this and the wonderful price, we’re consiering doing a huge sheet cake for Gray’s grooms cake. Wal-mart does these as well.
A full sheet cake serves 96. Since we inviting just over 200 people, the two cakes together should be more than enough to feed our crowd and have some left over.
I’m so glad to be getting details like this worked out. Although I have not booked the cake yet, I’ve been doing a lot of researching for budget purposes. I won’t be dealing with the cake for a few more months, thankfully.
