How much is that doggy in the window?

by Becca

I played with some puppies yesterday and fell in love. Gray took me to Petland because I was dying to get out of our teeny, tiny apartment and needed some interaction. Once I stepped inside I was in Heaven, or at least as close to Heaven on earth as it gets for me. I walk–not I ran to the windows full of puppies. I felt my face grinning (like an idiot) as my heart melted. Puppies do that for me, especially when there are fifteen and they all have sad faces.

We played with a Morkie who was very hyper and she kept biting my fingers. I wanted to hold her and tell her that, “Bitting fingers won’t get you adopted anytime soon.” I felt bad for her, they said she hadn’t been out to play in a while.

Our next and final playmate with the Yorkshire Terrier, my dream dog. After seeing Rachel’s dog Bello looking too darn cute, I was hooked. Our Yorkie was calm and playful and he licked my cheek. I would have taken him home, but he was a tad bit expensive and Gray said not yet.

I’ve decided that I’m definitely visiting Petland more often, those puppies need playmates and I want a dog desperately. I looked up Yorksire Terrier breeders around here when I got home and found a couple that I’m interested in. Their prices are more reasonable and their Yorkies are probably trained and better taken care of.

How can you not want one of these?

  1. I made a vow to stop teasing myself with trips to the pet store. I have a lot of trouble resisting puppies.
