So, I figured I would start posting regularly about Weight Watchers and my challenge to lose weight.
Weight Watchers has been a definite challenge for me. It’s not even that I love to eat, it’s that I like to feel full and sometimes that means stuffed.
However, I’ve been doing well so far. I’ve been given 21 points a day with 35 extra for the week. The first two days I used 22 points but then last night I stuck with my 21! I was SO proud of myself! Of course, the real challenge is coming this weekend. We’re going out to eat with some friends and I’m nervous about it. We’re also going out AGAIN next Wednesday so we’ll see how I fare up.
What I’ve been learning is that I totally eat a LOT. The problem is my choice of foods are not very filling so I end up eating more of them which causes me to eat extra calories. I have to be very careful to choose snacks and foods that will fill me up so I don’t want to eat more.
So this entire experiment has been very educational already. I’m realizing that it’s not so much about dieting, but a change in your lifestyle. I am not a kid anymore with a crazy high metabolism. I’m a grown woman who doesn’t get as much exercise as I used to get. I’m having to re-learn how to eat healthy portions, not that I really knew them before.
By the end of February I hope to have lost all of this weight and it will be so worth it.
