Hanging out with Friends
I got really behind on a few posts, so I’m playing catch up.
Right after the new year started I got to see an old friend of mine, Teresa. This wonderful woman of God nurtured me my sophomore year in college. She invited me to join a bible study she was leading in her dorm room. She was my Residential Assistant at the time and was super hyper. I was a little intimidated but my roommate at the time (Mandy) and I went and we kept going.
Teresa was there for me through a tough friendship, a breakup, and healing process. She guided me through a time of growth in my Christian faith and is the reason I am where I am today. Because of her I took steps and then, leaps of faith to try going out of my comfort zone.
Teresa graduated in 2005 and left for Japan in 2006. She has been teaching English there for three years and loves what she does. Every year she comes back to visit and I got the chance to meet up with her at Starbucks for some one on one time.
While she was in town, several of her friends gathered together at a Pizza place in town called Mellow Mushroom.
I tried Tiramisu for the first time here. I highly doubt it is much like the real recipe, but it was pretty good.
The night was so much fun and it was great to see my friends again, being married makes it harder to go out with friends like I used to.
Speaking of friends, one of my “resolutions” is to keep in better touch with my current friends.
