Freezing cold weather
So, if you are anywhere in mid/east U.S. you will have noticed that awful weather today and there is more to come overnight. This morning I arrived at school at 6:50 a.m. with Gray and it was freezing, windy, and raining. The cold has been bearable, but I can not stand rain, especially in the winter. I’m a huge baby about rain, mainly because I hate being wet for so long afterwards. I can remember a day in junior high when my mom dropped me off and I tripped into a puddle. She saw this, but didn’t think I needed a change in clothes (it never occurred to her) and I thought she would be bringing me some. I spent the entire morning wearing soaked jeans, one of the most unpleasant experiences in my life.
While I don’t think that incident is the leading cause of why I don’t like rain, I’m sure it doesn’t help the fact. Murfreesboro seems to attract rain. Our favorite saying is, “the sun doesn’t shine in Murfreesboro.” This city is actually the geographic center of the state and there is a monument about two miles from our apartment to mark this special spot on earth. It rains more in the middle of the state than anywhere else, trust me.
So it comes with annoyance that overnight we will be getting more gloomy weather and I get to drive in it tomorrow. Hopefully I can stay warm as I study up for my first big test on Thursday.
