@Trina, Well, I didn't quite get that much detail. It's not just my gums. There are things poking out of my gums that are causing my gums to swell. :) The gum line next to it is swelling too, which concerns me because it might be an infection spreading. I know this can happen if the teeth only come out a little, infection can begin because they aren't getting properly cleaned. The problem with this, is that the tooth (if that is what it is) is not coming in straight down on my gum line. It's coming in sideways, so I feel it on my inside cheek.

I was always told I don't know them, but a few years ago I started feeling something weird in that area, like little bumps that felt like teeth. They have emerged more now. I just want to see what is going on because I know it's not normal, whatever it is!

I think I asked my parents once about their wisdom teeth and my mom didn't have any, as far as I could remember.

Well, if its just your gums bothering you, it might not be wisdom teeth. I had gum soreness in that area several years before I got my wisdoms and even now years later in the same place, even though they have been removed. But it feels exactly the same. I don't know what it is, but it hasn't caused me any damage. Still, if it's persistent you should have it checked out. You might have irritated gums or gingivitis. Hopefully its not the wisdom teeth because of how expensive it is. What is your family history for wisdom teeth? Did both of your parents get theirs? It can be genetic as to how many you will get, and some people never get any. My whole family has gotten all four, but I only had my top two. I'm a freak. :)
