On life right now.
So, this past week has been, trying, to say the least.
I had two tests this week, one I passed and one I failed. While failing is discouraging, I am still passing the class, and that is an accomplishment, trust me.
I’ve felt very overwhelmed this week because a lot of stuff happened at once, like finding out our dental insurance for me only covers two fillings a year (WTH?) and we will be filing a grievance with them since they do not advertise this and keep telling us they only inform the dentist. So the paying customer doesn’t deserve the right to know what they are paying for? How can people know this sort of crap goes on and say we don’t need health care reform, seriously? Yeah, I won’t get into that mess right now. Anyway, we have to use some money from our savings to pay for the rest of the dental bill, which means that in the end, we will have paid almost $1500 for my teeth. I’m not complaining too much, because my teeth needed fixing, but the insurance thing has me so angry, I can’t stand being ripped off or told one thing and not everything. Let’s just say I might be getting rid of their company as my dental insurance provider.
So I had the two tests and then I had a paper due, not to mention my lab report. I am done with it all, though, and get to spend my afternoon studying for Patho. and then Health Assessment, although probably not in that order.
I will be grateful after this next week because I will finally have a week without a test, except I sort of have to take the HESI exam, and yeah, not looking forward to that at all. I hate standardized tests, ugh.
The one thing I am really thankful for is that after helping out a friend, he gave Gray and I a movie gift certificate so we get to go on a date this weekend and see a movie. He keeps trying to convince me to see “How to Train your Pet Dragon” or whatever that movie is called. However, he had already convinced me to go see “Shutter Island” and when you perk up my interest on a movie, you can’t just say, “sorry, I changed my mind…” I’m looking at YOU Preston!
I am so glad it is spring! I will post pictures soon of how my plants are doing… :)

My insurance packet didn't spell out its limitations, but my dentist told me the first time I went to them. Your dentist should have alerted you to the fact that you were having more done than would be covered. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to tell you.
@trina, I have no idea, they let me know the first time that insurance was saying I wasn't covered at all, but that was a mistake on the insurer's part because I am.
Honestly, this dental insurance has given us a few problems, so I'm not sure who is at fault with the entire situation. I still think it's wrong of them to not tell you that they only pay for 2 fillings a year, why would I use their insurance if I knew that? It's a ripoff.
GAH….They want people to be more aware of their health care situations so they know to be careful to not overuse insurance, etc etc etc. Also so people don't end up filing more health care related bankruptcies…And yet they STILL fail to tell us what things will cost. It's so frustrating…
@Melissa, The thing is… we've already been screwed by them before. We were billed for panaromic x-rays and so we called because my benefit sheet says they pay for x-rays and does not discern if certain ones don't count… we asked them then if they could tell us some of their other "non-listed" crap, like the 2 fillings per year rule, but they said they couldn't tell us because they don't have a sheet. That just doesn't make sense to me at all. They will only tell the dentist what they don't pay for when the dentist calls them to submit the claim. ugh
I've never had trouble with health insurance, but then again, I'm used to paying for dental work myself.
OH, and your dentist should have told you. Such a jerk. They know before you even get things done what you can have done. So frustrating…
.-= Melissa´s last blog ..divided we stand. =-.
@Melissa, I am not sure what is up with them, but I will probably be calling the insurance and dental office before I go again to see if they will cover my check-up in late summer.
