Two short stories that I’ve decided to share with you all.
Sunday morning we stayed home from church. We were exhausted from the party the night before and I had gotten the vaccine on Friday so I wasn’t feeling that great in general. It was around ten that morning that someone knocked on our door.
I seem to attract the crazies and wasn’t dressed properly so I ran to the bathroom where Gray was about to shower. “There is someone at the door!” “Ok, answer it….” I don’t want to, you do it.” “Um, dear, I’m not exactly dressed to greet them.”
Poor Gray had to grab some clothes very fast and run to the door. It turned out to be a local church who was handing out bags of toiletry items in the name of Jesus. They invited us to their church and were going in a minute.
As I was looking through the bag of goodies I’m pretty sure I said, “It’s just like Christmas!”

The other story involves ATMS and checks. On Saturday morning, we had a few errands to run before I could begin cooking. I suggested that this time we withdraw money for our groceries so we’re not tempted to splurge on sweets/snacks during the middle of the week. So we drove our to an ATM and withdrew some money before going to Petco to get the chinchilla some supplies.
Flash forward to Sunday night in bed. I’m laying there and suddenly freak out. You see, my mom had sent me a check and Trina had written me another and I thought we had deposited them without signing them. I went into crazy mode for about a minute until Gray finally grabbed his wallet and pulled out the checks. My mind had made up out a memory that we had gone to deposit those checks, which was an intention but didn’t end up happening because we forgot. Gray called me crazy and we went to sleep.
I just thought I’d shared, since I needed something to write about for today.

Gray got a haircut yesterday. He has been complaining since his last haircut that his hair is too long. That is what happens when you tell them you want a “trim” and not a few inches off.
So we went to Wal-mart because it was cheap and close. After wanting for an eternity, Gray was seen and I wandered off in the store in search of entertainment. When Gray finally caught up with me, he looked like this:

Well hello, Grady Jr.!

Hello, all. Just thought that I was quite overdue for an update on ‘la vida,’ as it is, so here goes:
Married Life – Great! Now I can finally sleep next to the hot body that is Becca and as a couple we’re doing pretty well. (And getting better… wink, wink.)
Job -Pretty quiet, I do my work while waiting for someone to show up and need something most of the time. Not many people are actually on campus (big surprise, I know) so my job is just that much easier. Oh, interesting tidbit, the power for the entire building went out, so I got off early because someone on a construction crew dug before they called & took out a major power line to campus.
School – Finally started my class for the summer and it doesn’t end until August 8th (lovely, I know). The professor seems alright, we’ll just see how it goes. Fortunate for me, I know several of the guys in the class & I believe that we’ll be able to help each other out, hopefully.
Lastly, here’s today’s xkcd comic:

Today Gray turns 21. It’s hard to believe that we’re both past the bigger milestones of the young adult life. Now all we can look forward to is old age. Totally kidding. I think.
Because of finances I’m not able to give her the birthday that I would love to give him, but he is getting a cake.
Happy Birthday Sweetheart! I can’t wait to share many more birthdays with you.

So only one more week until Spring Break…WOOT! As of now Becca and I are trying to spend the break between our two families, as long as other things don’t get in the way. We’ll be doing some wedding planning and working on sending out invitations.

This semester has started off pretty well; I’m only taking 14 hrs. of class & they shouldn’t be too challenging. I already understand everything that they’ve taught so far and I’m keeping up with all of the schoolwork that they’ve assigned so far. I’ve already taken care of a few of the assignments due this coming week and it shouldn’t take me to much longer to finish the rest of the homework. The next big thing to turn in is the first open lab form Comp. Sci. II and it won’t take too long because it isn’t too involved. That’s everything interesting with school…

So, Gray and I got back home the 1st from Greensboro, NC where we attended Encounter 07, the Campus Crusade for Christ Midsouth regional winter conference. It was a whole lot of fun, until people (including Gray) got sick with a stomach virus the last night. He has fully recovered now, thankfully. This next month is going to be a busy month for us both. Gray will go back to school the 14th and I must begin job hunting and starting back on that silly wedding planning path. Only 4 months until we’re officially married and we’re glad it’s getting closer.

Well, here’s hoping I don’t do too badly this semester gradewise…I will be blogging (hopefully) more frequently than in the past.
