A plethora of updates

by Becca

It’s been a super busy week in the Sanborn household. Last Friday we travelled to Memphis to spend the weekend with the Sanborns and celebrate with Caleb as he graduated. We went to the zoo, ate out at Texas de Brazil (AMAZING!!) and got to see some friends. Oh and of course, we watched Caleb graduate!

Going back to work on Tuesday was sort of a drag, but now it’s Friday and I can relax. This week I also, finally, discovered the joys of Freecycle. For those of you who do not know, Freecycle is similiar to craig’s list, except everything is free. I kicked off my membership by giving away a tripod because we had two that were exactly the same. It was one of our many double purchases when we were dating. You would think we would have realized that marriage was a possibility and stopped buying two of the same item.

Anyway, I was browsing through the list and found a 50 inch rear projection TV that wasn’t working. The guy giving it away suggested it was only a fuse and so Gray jumped at the chance of getting it for free. We drove over to the guy’s house and picked it up last night. It is HUGE and almost as tall as I am! Today Gray worked on it and we now have picture but are trying to adjust the color. Regardless, we got a $400 TV for FREE. Freecycle is awesome!

Oh, I know that I did not post on Wednesday, mainly because I was ashamed of my weight. I’ve pretty much gained back the weight I lost doing Weight Watchers, but I have a new plan. Gray and I started doing the Couch to 5K program a week ago so that should keep me exercising. I’m trying hard not to overeat but it doesn’t help if I eat foods that aren’t filling. With classes starting back on Monday, I need to be sure I’m healthy.

Yes, I go back to school on Monday and I’m not really looking forward to the joyous event. Thankfully, I will be done after five short weeks.

On a side note, Taylor Sanborn, who never was dating Liz Ruth is now officially courting her. This is a big deal to use because we called it like two years ago. Go figure. :)

Happy Birthday Taylor

by Becca

Today is my brother-in-law, Taylor’s, 19th birthday. Happy Birthday Taylor!

Fortunately for him, we won’t make some embarrassing post about him, that and Gray is lazy.

There are a few stories I could share with you… how my laptop’s power cord died, or how about how I felt sick while doing my exercise DVD.. not so exciting. I could share one of the stories where Chile, our chinchilla, made rather strange squeaking noises… alas there is not much going on around here.

I did, however, do my pushups and will be repeating week four. It’s for the best though.

So, until I find something to talk about… I leave you with this picture.

We Are Back! Again?

by Becca

Gray and I spent the weekend in Memphis visiting his family. The trip was originally planned to watch Taylor, his younger brother, graduate from high school. We also managed to pick up a few wedding gifts, Gray’s chest and a lot of yummy food! Along the way to Memphis we visited my parent’s house to drop off some stuff.

Now we are home and unpacking and I am getting ready for a big interview tomorrow morning. I really need to stop putting interviews the day after I get back from traveling, not such a smart idea. However, tomorrow after the interview is going to be a busy day. I can finally go get my driver’s license changed to my new name and then we can update all other IDs such as bank accounts as the like. I also will finally get to hang up curtains in my living room and a pot rack for my kitchen area. These are the final additions to our home.

I’m slowly getting used to the fact that I’m married now, complete with cooking for my husband and sharing a not-so-big bed with him. I love him so much and being married just amplifies that. I’m lucky to have married my best friend.

Walking in Memphis

by Becca

Gray and I are currently in Memphis to see his younger brother Taylor graduate from high school. Last night we had the chance to see the latest Indiana Jones movie, which was excellent.

I’ve started to the painful process of thank you cards. I believe I’m halfway through, but you just can never tell when you are in the middle of them.

Gray and I are doing great in marriage so far. We’re enjoying married life a lot.

Busy Life

by Becca

This next week is going to be rather busy. This weekend Gray and I are going to Memphis to see his little brother Taylor graduate from high school. So we’re spending the weekend with the Sanborns.

Once we get back, I have an interview Tuesday morning in a nearby town for a job that actually uses my degree. I received an email after I submitted my resume that asked a few questions and explained they would only be interviewing 5 people. I got another email a day later asking for my references and if an interview Tuesday morning was ok. So I have an interview and I’m supposedly 1 of 5 doing so.

So, busy week, hopefully my next entry won’t be so boring. :)
